Chief Executive visit to the offices of the United Nations in The Hague

UN- ICTY, Staff Union Football Team in The Hague
|
Recently, Alan Irwin, ESF Chief Executive Officer, visited trade union colleagues at the United Nations in The Hague to talk about training and education, more specifically the staff union of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. The meeting with staff representatives and Ruskin College Oxford discussed education initiatives that would examine trade union renewal strategies but as is always the case in the informal sessions, the discussion got round to football. Not least of all the very positive suggestion of the United Nations profiling their diverse work during the 2010 World Cup in Africa, through football in the communities where they are located.
