ESF Teams up with BOX4SKILLS

The ESF is working together with BOXforSKILLS to offer advice and guidance to boxers (amateur and professional) and their families. The new collaborative initiative will concentrate specifically on education and training as a key resource to finding employment and a career outside of the ring. It is anticipated that the service should become live in March 2009 and will be introduced with a new bespoke website that will offer advice and guidance towards accessing courses via the college partnerships that are currently in place via the ESF. The longer term objective will be to have designated Learning Centres in gyms that express a desire to reflect the gym as a combined training and learning environment. The ESF President, Des Farrell said; “We are very excited about working with BOXforSKILLS who we hope will benefit from the expertise and experience of our affiliate members within the Forum and of course our college providers who will ultimately access funding to support such an initiative”. “There is still quite a bit of work to be done in terms of preparation but the progress we have made already has been significant”.
